Todd J. Russo
Todd Russo is the Chief Executive Officer of Buckeye. Todd joined Buckeye in 2008 and has held numerous key leadership roles in the organization, most recently as Executive Vice President, Alternative Energy & Strategy from 2021 to 2022, where he was responsible for defining and advancing Buckeye’s strategy relating to alternative energy. He previously served as General Counsel from 2013-2021.
Prior to joining Buckeye, Todd was an attorney at Ballard Spahr, where he focused his practice on securities and corporate governance. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Lehigh University, is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, and completed Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.
Todd currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Energy Infrastructure Council and the Mann Center for the Performing Arts. He also serves on the Dean’s External Advisory Council for Lehigh University’s College of Arts and Sciences, and he is a member of the National Petroleum Council.
Evan B. Hofmann
Evan Hofmann is the Chief Legal Officer of Buckeye and is responsible for overseeing the Legal, Public Affairs, Corporate Communications, Sustainability, and Corporate Security functions. He has been with the company since 2013 and previously held the role of Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary.
Prior to joining Buckeye, Evan was an attorney at Vinson & Elkins LLP in Houston, Texas and Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Chicago, Illinois, after graduating from the University of Houston Law Center and the University of Texas at Austin.
Evan also currently serves on the Board of Directors of Houston Wilderness, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting, preserving, and promoting the ten ecoregions in the Greater Houston Area through facilitation of large-scale environmental policy initiatives.
COREY LEONARD
Corey Leonard is the Chief Commercial Officer of Buckeye. Corey joined Buckeye in 2024 and is responsible for leading Buckeye’s Commercial function, developing and refining the company’s commercial strategies to ensure alignment with corporate business objectives, and catalyzing growth in the business. Corey also oversees Buckeye’s merchant services business segment, Buckeye Energy Services.
Prior to joining Buckeye, Corey gained extensive experience in delivering growth and leading collaborative teams across a variety of companies and industries, including at Engine No. 1, Pin Oak Group, and Phillips 66. He most recently served as Chief Executive Officer for Greenfield Holdings. Corey holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Corporate Finance & Banking from Arkansas State University.
Corey served on the Board of Directors for Pin Oak Group and Greenfield Holdings, as well as on the Board of Advisors for Demeter Logistics. He is also an advocate and supporter of The Children’s Fund in Houston, TX.
CHRIS S. PINE
Chris Pine is the Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Low Carbon Investments at Buckeye. Chris is responsible for leading the M&A function at Buckeye, including identifying and executing on opportunities to diversify and complement our existing asset portfolio through strategic transactions, investments, and other significant growth initiatives across the traditional and energy transition focused space. Additionally, his responsibilities also include the oversight and asset management of Buckeye’s existing alternative energy investments. He has been with the company since 2009 and previously held the role of Vice President, Corporate Development and Strategic Planning.
Prior to joining Buckeye, Chris was an Associate Director at UBS Investment Bank, where he executed M&A and capital markets advisory transactions for a broad range of energy companies across the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors. Before his time at UBS, he worked as a Consultant at Accenture. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Duke University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
Joseph M. Sauger
Joseph (“Joe”) Sauger is the Chief Operating Officer of Buckeye. He is responsible for leading and overseeing the Pipelines & Terminals business segment, including all financial, engineering, operational and technical support aspects, along with Buckeye’s Safety, Environmental, and Regulatory Compliance functions. Joe has held various executive positions in the Buckeye organization over the past 18 years, with notable leadership positions in Engineering & Construction as well as Global Operations.
Prior to joining Buckeye, Joe developed a wide array of experience and skills across various sectors, including commercial nuclear reactor operations, petroleum terminal design and construction, refinery construction and operations, and general business management. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine (Mechanical) Engineering from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy and has acquired various licenses and certifications in the nuclear, petrochemical, and construction industries.
Charlene E. Tennison
Charlene Tennison is the Chief People Officer of Buckeye. Charlene oversees the Human Resources function, including talent acquisition, talent management, organizational design, compensation and benefits, diversity, equity and inclusion, and employee relations. She is responsible for cultivating Buckeye’s human resources strategy to deliver on the company’s key business initiatives. Charlene joined Buckeye in 2011 and has held a variety of human resources leadership roles during her tenure, including her previous role as Senior Vice President, Human Resources.
Prior to joining Buckeye, Charlene held various Benefits and Compensation roles at healthcare, chemical, and energy companies in Houston. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Management from the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
Drew Scafide
Drew Scafide is the Chief Information Officer at Buckeye and is responsible for the company’s enterprise technology, cybersecurity, and digital strategy. With more than 25 years of experience, Drew has led large-scale modernization initiatives across energy, infrastructure, and high-growth organizations, aligning technology investment with operational excellence and long-term business objectives.
Prior to joining Buckeye in 2025, he served as Chief Technology Officer at New Fortress Energy, overseeing global cloud transformation, enterprise ERP deployment, advanced analytics, and IT governance. Earlier in his career, Drew held senior IT leadership roles at Kinder Morgan and CB&I, supporting mission-critical pipeline, logistics, and industrial systems at scale. Drew holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Information Systems from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Adam W. Rubin
Adam Rubin is the Vice President, Health, Safety, and Construction Quality at Buckeye and is responsible for leading the Occupational Health and Safety team and overseeing Construction Inspection Services. Adam plays a key role in the strategic development and implementation of Health and Safety across the enterprise. He joined Buckeye in 2021, after spending 14 years working for a large EPC organization.
Prior to joining Buckeye, Adam held various roles focused in large construction, engineering, maintenance, turnaround, and specialty fabrication. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Sports Science from Texas State and a Master of Science in Occupational Health and Safety from Columbia Southern University. Adam is also a Certified Safety Professional.
Kenneth F. Thompson
Kenneth (“Ken”) Thompson is the Vice President, Commercial Strategy at Buckeye and is focused on the optimization and growth of Buckeye’s commercial platform through investment review and evaluation, market & competitor analysis, and aligning commercial execution with the long-term strategy of the company. Ken joined Buckeye in 2012 and has held a variety of roles in Corporate Development, Treasury, and Corporate Strategy during that time.
Before joining Buckeye, Ken worked in corporate development for El Paso Corporation and Kinder Morgan, as well as in corporate strategy consulting for Alvarez & Marsal. Ken received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Honors Finance from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Thomas R. Zeth
Thomas (“TJ”) Zeth is the Vice President, Commercial Operations at Buckeye. TJ oversees commercial and customer service activities across the company’s portfolio of pipeline and terminal assets. He is responsible for driving business growth, exhibiting exemplary customer service, and fostering the successful completion of transformative projects. TJ joined Buckeye in 2000 and has held a variety of roles in Engineering, Measurement & Quality Control, Terminal Marketing, Pipeline Marketing, and most recently, Commercial Development.
TJ holds a Master of Business Administration from Lehigh University and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Lafayette College.
Board of Directors
David Sparrow is Chair of the BEH Board and has served as a Director of BEH since 2023. He previously served as a Director of Buckeye GP LLC (“Buckeye GP”), the general partner of Buckeye, from November 2019 to 2023. Mr. Sparrow is Executive Director, Infrastructure at IFM Investors, having joined the firm in 2014. At IFM Investors, he is responsible for the origination, structuring, and execution of fund investments, along with the ongoing management of portfolio assets. In addition to Buckeye, Mr. Sparrow has worked on a number of energy infrastructure investments for IFM Investors, including Freeport LNG, Swift Current Energy, Elysian Carbon Management, VTTI, and Colonial Pipeline. Prior to joining IFM Investors, Mr. Sparrow worked in M&A at Latham & Watkins LLP in New York. He also serves as a member of the boards of Freeport LNG and Elysian Carbon Management. Mr. Sparrow holds a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the George Washington University Law School.
Sebastian Domenech has served as a Director of BEH since 2025. Mr. Domenech is Global Head, Asset Management Specialist Team at IFM Investors, and joined the firm in 2016. At IFM Investors, he coordinates asset management activities that drive value creation across a diverse portfolio of global infrastructure assets. He works closely with portfolio company management teams to deliver deep operational and organizational transformations. Mr. Domenech has more than 20 years of experience improving business processes across several industries and functions. Prior to joining IFM Investors, he held senior operations roles at LATAM Airlines in Santiago, Chile, where he managed the Aircraft Maintenance Network, overseeing more than 4,000 employees across 25 countries. Earlier in his career, he was a consultant with Booz & Company, advising energy sector clients on strategic initiatives. His experience also includes human resource process transformation at ExxonMobil, project evaluation at Techint, and total productive maintenance at Pirelli Tires. Mr. Domenech holds a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from the University of Buenos Aires. He also earned a Master of Business Administration with High Distinction from the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business.
Larry Clynch has served as an independent Director of BEH since 2023 and previously served as an independent Director of Buckeye GP, the general partner of Buckeye, from 2020 to 2023. Mr. Clynch has over 40 years’ experience in the domestic and international pipeline and terminal business. He has extensive experience in the engineering, design, construction, operation, and management of refined product pipelines, refined product terminals, crude mainline and gathering pipelines systems, marine crude terminals, slurry pipelines, coal handling facilities, and LPG facilities. More than ten years of Mr. Clynch’s career were spent internationally or outside the contiguous United States, primarily in pipeline projects north of the arctic circle, both in Alaska and Siberia. He also has six years of international relations in technical representation on behalf the United States. Mr. Clynch holds a Bachelor of Science in Geological and Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and an Executive Master of Business Administration from Emory University.
Lisa Crutchfield brings over 30 years of experience in the energy sector, including financial, regulatory, and strategic leadership. She has served as an independent Director of BEH since 2023 and previously served as an independent Director of Buckeye GP, the general partner of Buckeye, from 2020 to 2023. Ms. Crutchfield is the Managing Principal of Hudson Strategic Advisers, LLC, an economic analysis and strategic advisory firm serving the energy industry since 2016. Since 2012, she has worked as a consultant, helping shape energy policy – including authoring legislation to establish renewable energy portfolio standards in the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions. She has developed carbon reduction strategies for utilities, led corporate teams in negotiating power purchase agreements with solar and wind developers, and overseen initiatives deploying energy efficiency and demand-side management tools in commercial and residential settings. Prior to her entrepreneurial ventures, Ms. Crutchfield served as executive vice president and chief regulatory, risk and compliance officer for National Grid USA from 2008 to 2011. She also has served in executive leadership roles at Exelon Corporation (PECO), TIAA-CREF, and Duke Energy Corporation. Ms. Crutchfield currently serves on the board of directors of Fortis, Inc., Fulton Financial Corporation, Somos, Inc., and Vistra Corporation. Ms. Crutchfield is a graduate of Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science. She also earned a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School. Most recently, Ms. Crutchfield earned a director’s designation in Sustainability at Stanford University.
Clark Smith has served as an independent Director of BEH since 2023 and previously served as a Director of Buckeye GP, the general partner of Buckeye, from 2022 to 2023. Mr. Smith was Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Buckeye GP from August 2014 until May 2022, President and Chief Executive Officer of Buckeye GP from February 2012 to August 2014, and President and Chief Operating Officer of Buckeye GP from February 2009 to February 2012. Prior to joining the management team, he served as a Director of Buckeye GP from February 2007 to February 2009. He also held prior jobs with Engage Investments, L.P. and El Paso Corporation. Mr. Smith holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin.
