Buckeye Receives ILTA’s 2023 Safety Excellence Award

In May, Buckeye was recognized by the International Liquid Terminals Association (ILTA) for our 2022 safety performance during ILTA’s annual conference held in Houston, TX.  ILTA’s safety awards recognize terminal operating member companies for outstanding safety performance.   For the 2023 Safety Awards program, the ILTA Health and Safety Committee updated the selection process to include a focus on leading safety indicators and to complement a company’s total recordable incident rate (TRIR) for the previous year. To receive the 2023 ILTA Safety Excellence Award, companies were required to score in the top two quartiles for both the leading indicator survey and the lagging indicator survey (OSHA TRIR data).

In 2022, we achieved a 40% reduction in our employee total recordable incident rate (TRIR) from 2021.  This achievement, and multi-year trend, is a testament to our unwavering dedication to safe and reliable operations.
